The Learning Centre of our department stands as an epitome of intellectual elegance and a repository of technical education, in particular, engineering and technology. It plays a pivotal role in the process of promoting and demonstrating a desire for information, knowledge, and understanding among the students, and aides them in the development of their professional and personal lives. The Learning Centre inspires and supports students, faculty, researchers, and staff in all facets of their pursuits to dream, learn, create and share knowledge. It provides access to a wide array of technical ideas and information. Relying on its highly skilled staff, the Learning Centre encourages innovation, capitalises on appropriate technologies, forges effective partnerships, and unequivocally promotes excellence among the students. The Learning Centre provides an ambience conducive for the teaching and learning process with the support of 650 volumes of text and reference books with RFID based Library Management System.

Laboratories

The academic activities are well supported by state-of-the-art laboratories and classrooms that are e-learning enabled with modern equipment and machineries as per the requirement of the syllabus of Anna University, Chennai. An interactive relationship is maintained between the students and staff which enables the students to develop a sound foundation in the stream.

Students of the department have a strong foundation in core mechanical engineering subjects with practical knowledge, through various laboratory courses, internships, industrial visits and mini projects. Students are also exposed to the latest developments in the industry through guest lectures and seminars by eminent technocrats and academicians.

• Utilize their proficiencies in the fundamental knowledge of basic sciences, mathematics, Artificial Intelligence, data science and statistics to build systems that require management and analysis of large volumes of data.
• Advance their technical skills to pursue pioneering research in the field of AI and Data Science and create disruptive and sustainable solutions for the welfare of ecosystems.
• Think logically, pursue lifelong learning and collaborate with an ethical attitude in a multidisciplinary team.

PROGRAM OUTCOMES (POs)

• Engineering knowledge: Apply the knowledge of mathematics, science, engineering fundamentals, and an engineering specialization to the solution of complex engineering problems.
• Problem analysis: Identify, formulate, review research literature, and analyze complex engineering problems reaching substantiated conclusions using first principles of mathematics, natural sciences, and engineering sciences.
• Design/development of solutions: Design solutions for complex engineering problems and design system components or processes that meet the specified needs with appropriate consideration for the public health and safety, and the cultural, societal, and environmental considerations.
• Conduct investigations of complex problems: Use research-based knowledge and research methods including design of experiments, analysis and interpretation of data, and synthesis of the information to provide valid conclusions.
• Modern tool usage: Create, select, and apply appropriate techniques, resources, and modern engineering and IT tools including prediction and modeling to complex engineering activities with an understanding of the limitations.
